What is the Gateway Project?
First of all, the project is located at our business center of town at the intersection of Routes 96 and 332. Phase 1 of the project starts with the Farmington Commons/CVS plaza on the southwest corner.
The project involved a major redesign and improvement of the land directly in front of the plaza between the parking area and the sidewalk. The project features a paver block walkway with a central clock tower reaching 18 ft into the air. There are several park benches, tables for seating and enjoying coffee or a meal, and a large landscaped area with trees and decorative hedges. The project meets all state, local and DOT safety regulations.
How was this funded?
First and foremost, there were absolutely ZERO tax dollars spent on this project! This was 100% funded from donations by community – businesses and residents.
By your purchase of an engraved paver (STILL AVAILABLE THROUGH 2014) you are getting your family name immortalized and helping to support the community in which you live.
